Homecoming is next week for us, and we just got the spirit week dress up days list (for 2 different schools). We try to reuse and thrift as much as possible, but that doesn’t always work out. Here is our list of ideas for you to show your SPIRIT! This post contains affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Get UP and GO day

I guess ‘pajama’ day is too boring….this is typically an easy day to use what you have, but if you need something more school appropriate check out some of these options:

Jersey Out

Self explanatory, and a good time to raid Dad’s closet. For a family of girls this category can be challenging. If wanting to buy something, we stick to our home state teams, or school colors and buy it oversized to give an opportunity to wear it again.

Neon Day

We survived the early 90’s as parents so I love this category for a dress up day! Typically nothing in our closets is neon, so it’s time to go hunting….literally! Hunting gear is a great neon to pick up or borrow. Vests are a budget friendly purchase, and sweatpants are a popular choice.

Western Wear

OK, we’re midwestern and somewhat rural – it’s not unusual to see a plaid shirt and cowboy hat walk down the halls. The girls tend to stick with a hat, tank top, and jeans.

Hawaiian/Luau

Also, Lilo & Stitch was thrown on the description for this day – so it’s a free for all! Dad’s closet is a great place to start for a classic button down. At minimum, throw on a t-shirt and shorts and accessorize!

Red, White, & Blue

U.S.A all the way! This day is fun and we see a lot of participation. We love pairing jeans with a simple red or white shirt and accessorizing (duh!)

School SPIRIT

No matter what your school colors are you have options! This is a category we are always on the lookout for. We are GREEN and GOLD, but many of these products come in multiple colors.

Happy HOCO week to all of you! Encourage your teens to dress up and enjoy being a part of something!
